The night flight restrictions for Zurich Airport will be lifted next weekend. The reason for this is the Ukraine peace conference on the Bürgenstock in Nidwalden. Scheduled flights can take off and land until 02:00 on the nights from Saturday to Sunday and from Sunday to Monday.

The reason given by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA) is the arrival and departure of around 90 state delegations at the Ukraine peace conference, which will be handled via Zurich Airport, as stated in a press release on Wednesday. This could have an impact on regular flight operations in Zurich.

To ensure that planned scheduled flights can still take place, the FOCA has adjusted the night flight restrictions for the coming weekend. Delayed scheduled flights can take off and land until 2 a.m. without special authorization.

In addition, the FOCA will allow unlimited flights by state aircraft during the two nights, it added. However, only isolated flights are to be expected at most. Due to the increased volume of flights, delays to scheduled services cannot be ruled out.
