Motorcyclist dies in Boltigen BE after collision

A motorcyclist died on the scene of a traffic accident in Boltigen BE on Thursday morning. He had been hit by a car.
The accident in Weissenbach (municipality of Boltigen) was reported shortly before 11.00 a.m., as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Thursday. The motorcyclist, who was traveling from Zweisimmen to Boltigen, crashed for reasons still to be clarified and ended up in the oncoming lane. There, he was hit by an oncoming car.
Despite immediate rescue measures, it was not possible to prevent the man from dying at the scene. Formal identification is still pending.
The Bern cantonal police, under the direction of the responsible public prosecutor's office, have begun an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
