Kiosk operator Valora is increasingly competing with Swiss Post. The delivery service DPD and the retail company Valora launched a branch network for dropping off and collecting parcels, as DPD announced on Sunday. The network comprises 700 locations.

Valora already has a similar cooperation with UPD, wrote the Sonntagszeitung. According to a DPD press release on Sunday, survey data from DPD shows that more and more people prefer flexible delivery to convenient locations rather than home delivery.

DPD Switzerland claims to be one of the leading private express and parcel service providers in Switzerland, with 1,200 employees handling over 24 million parcels to companies and private individuals every year. The company, which is based in Buchs ZH, is represented at fourteen locations in Switzerland and neighboring countries and has 440 "DPD Pickup parcelshops", the press release continued. DPD Switzerland belongs to Geopost.
