Two perpetrators caught after shooting at gas station in Constance

Following the shooting at a petrol station in Constance (Germany), two fugitives have been caught by the police in the canton of Thurgau. They are said to have shot at a group of people on Sunday and seriously injured a man.

According to the police, extradition to Germany has been requested against the suspects, who are aged 34 and 20. The suspects are in custody in Switzerland. The investigation is ongoing.

On Sunday morning at around 5.30 a.m., shots were reportedly fired several times from a moving scooter in Constance. The target was a small group of people. One of the shots hit a 37-year-old man. The man suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital.

The perpetrators - the scooter driver and his pillion passenger - then drove on and initially escaped. The two men were arrested a few hours later in Thurgau. The background to the crime and further details were not initially known.
