Apartment fire in Locarno claims one life

One person died in a fire in an apartment in Locarno TI on Tuesday night. Around ten people were also evacuated due to the fire, the Ticino cantonal police announced on Tuesday.
According to the police report, the fire broke out on the second floor of a residential building at around one o'clock in the morning. The police found the lifeless body on this floor.
Formal identification is still underway, according to the police. The cause of the fire has also not yet been clarified, according to the police report.
The evacuees were housed in a civil defense center.
