Trend: Aargau SVP significantly increases voter share

According to initial interim results, the SVP has significantly increased its voter share in the Aargau cantonal elections. The Greens, SP, FDP and Green Liberals are showing signs of losses. The center holds its ground.

The three rural districts of Kulm, Laufenburg and Muri have been counted. According to the results, the SVP increased its voter share by 9.6 percentage points to just under 40 percent. The center has made slight gains.

According to the interim results, the Greens lost around 4 percent of voters, the SP 3 percent, the FDP 1.8 percent and the Green Liberals 1.7 percent.

Voter turnout is just under 32 percent. The Grand Council has 140 seats. Since the election four years ago, the six parties have divided the seats as follows: SVP 43, SP 23, FDP 21, Center 18, Greens 14, GLP 13, EVP 6 and EDU 2.
