Swiss President Viola Amherd has congratulated Donald Trump on his election victory on the short message platform X. She wrote that Switzerland looks forward to continuing to work together with the USA on the basis of shared values and interests.
Switzerland is a long-standing and trusted partner of the USA, the press release continues. The economic and scientific relations between the two countries are "excellent". The congratulations were also addressed to Trump's designated Vice President JD Vance.
