Switzerland experienced a stormy night. According to Meteonews, wind speeds of 70 to 90 km/h were measured in the lowlands. A storm with gale-force winds raged on the mountains.
The strongest gust of 150 kilometers per hour (km/h) was recorded on the Jungfraujoch, as the weather service Meteonews wrote on X on Wednesday. But there were also isolated gusts of up to 100 km/h in the lowlands, for example in Schaffhausen. In Steckborn TG, 98 km/h were measured. On the Bantiger in the canton of Bern, it stormed at 112 km/h.
The change in the weather will also bring cold, wintry weather from the middle of the week, the report continued. It could snow in some areas as early as Wednesday. And on Thursday, the weather service is expecting snow showers down to low altitudes.
