Zurich Airport carries more passengers in November

Once again, more passengers traveled through Zurich Airport in November than a year ago. However, the pre-crisis level of 2019 was not reached.
A total of 2.19 million people traveled through Switzerland's largest airport in the month under review, the airport announced on Wednesday evening. This was 7.3% more than in November 2023, with passenger volumes corresponding to 98.4% of the pre-pandemic level of November 2019.
More transit passengers
The increase in travelers was primarily due to local passengers. Their number rose by 8.0% to 1.50 million travelers. The number of transfer passengers also increased by 5.8% to 694,000.
However, commercial revenue only benefited slightly from the additional passengers: this amounted to CHF 45.8 million in November. This was 0.6% more than in the same month last year.
