For Green National Councillor Balthasar Glättli, the conclusion of the substantive negotiations on the Bilateral Agreements III is a milestone for the renewal and consolidation of Swiss-EU relations. After Switzerland "irresponsibly slammed the door shut" on the framework agreement, it has now been opened again.
It is about more than just Switzerland's access to the EU single market, Glättli continued on X. The major challenges of our time, such as climate protection, responsible digitalization for the benefit of all, democracy and the rule of law and a rules-based international order, could be better solved together, said the Zurich National Councillor.
