A Colorful Basel Tattoo with Sounds from Four Continents

The Basel Tattoo celebrated its premiere on Friday with around 1000 participants. The event featured a variety of musical performances from around the world, including the Massed Pipes and Drums, the Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, the Rekrutenspiel der Schweizer Militärmusik, the Lucerne Marching Band, the New Zealand Army Band, and the Banda Monumental de México. The event also featured a special performance by the Royal Guard of the Sultan of Oman, with 50 horses flown in from the Arabian Peninsula. The Basel Tattoo is a celebration of music, dance, and culture from around the world, with a focus on Scottish roots. It features a variety of musical performances, from traditional Scottish bagpipes to funk-infused brass bands, as well as dance performances from Mexico, Ukraine, and other countries. The event also features a parade through the city of Basel, with 2500 participants. The Basel Tattoo is open to the public until July 22nd.
