The Swiss government has expressed regret over Russia's decision to suspend the international grain agreement. They hope for a renewal of the agreement in the near future in order to ensure global food security. The agreement, which was signed a year ago, allowed Ukraine to export more than 30 million tons of grain through the Black Sea despite the Russian aggression. Representatives of Switzerland called for the extension of the Black Sea initiative at a high-level meeting in New York on Monday, chaired by British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and attended by his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba. The Swiss government also reaffirmed its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and reminded all parties of their obligation to respect international humanitarian law.
