Obwalden Green Liberals Withdraw National Council Candidacy

Paddy Matter, the Green Liberal candidate for the National Council in Obwalden, has withdrawn his candidacy due to the presence of the FDP candidate Nico Fankhauser. Matter and the Green Liberal Party had hoped to unseat Monika Rüegger of the SVP, but saw little chance of success with two candidates in the running. Despite the withdrawal, the GLP still plans to grow in Obwalden, with Isabelle della Torre running for the Gemeinderatswahlen in 2024. Monika Rüegger of the SVP and Erich Ettlin of the Mitte party currently represent Obwalden in the National Council.nnnn
