Retour au fil d'actualité

On Sunday, long traffic jams occurred at both portals of the Gotthard tunnel. In the north, the waiting time was at times more than an hour and a half, while in the south it was a maximum of one hour and 20 minutes. The cars had been queuing up on the A2 motorway in front of the tunnel since 9am, initially only for a length of one kilometer. By noon, the stationary car column had grown to ten kilometers due to a tunnel closure for a breakdown vehicle between Erstfeld and Göschenen in the canton of Uri, resulting in a waiting time of more than an hour and a half. In the course of the afternoon, the length of the jam gradually decreased. In the northbound direction, a traffic jam of eight kilometers had formed between Faido and Airolo in front of the Gotthard South Portal by 2pm, with a time loss of one hour and 20 minutes according to the TCS. This length also decreased in the course of the afternoon. On Saturday, there had already been major traffic jams at the Gotthard, with a maximum length of 13 kilometers in the southbound direction and eight kilometers in the northbound direction.nnnn
