Invalidated april 14 elections in Arbedo-castione to be rerun on September 22.
The municipal elections held in Arbedo-Castione on April 14 were declared invalid and will be repeated on September 22. The Ticino cantonal government announced that the rerun will use the same candidate lists as the original election.
Irregularities were discovered by a cantonal counting office, affecting about 50 executive ballot papers and some legislative ones. The cantonal audit office found systematic manipulation, leading to the invalidation of the elections and the confiscation of ballot papers by the public prosecutor’s office.
Additionally, irregularities in Ascona’s municipal elections are under review by the Ticino Administrative Court.
