The illegal hemp plantation was discovered during an unannounced inspection on Thursday morning. The police discovered 4,000 hemp plants containing THC instead of CBD hemp, writes the Zurich cantonal police in a press release. The police also found several kilograms of marijuana ready for sale.

The 35-year-old Swiss operator of the facility has been arrested and will be handed over to the public prosecutor’s office for Lake Constance/Oberland after being questioned by the police. According to the police, the indoor plant was dismantled. The hemp plants were disposed of “professionally” and the marijuana was seized.
