176 km/h on the cantonal road – Fribourg police stop speeders

In Corpataux in the canton of Fribourg, a 29-year-old man was driving at 176 km/h outside the city limits on Friday night. The man had to surrender his driver's license and the police confiscated his car.

The driver was caught by the Fribourg cantonal police at 2.30 am on the cantonal road from Posieux to Rossens, as reported on Saturday. The police were carrying out a speed check there at the time. The speed limit on this stretch of road is 80 km/h.

The police then questioned the 29-year-old in the presence of a lawyer on suspicion of a speeding offense, according to the press release. He confessed and admitted to driving drunk.
