On Monday, the public prosecutor's office demanded an 18-year prison sentence for a man accused of murdering his wife in Kehrsatz near Bern.

The evidence would provide a clear picture of the defendant's perpetration. The public prosecutor cited several pieces of evidence. For example, there was no evidence of more serious psychological problems on the part of the victim. Only the defendant had made this claim.

The young woman had short, medium and long-term plans, such as traveling, education or pregnancy. She was not tired of life.

The situation in which the body was found in the apartment in Kehrsatz BE also raises questions about a suicide. There is no reason why the woman should have taken sedatives before committing suicide.

In addition, she would have pulled the cable ties around her neck tight at the front if she had acted on her own. However, they had been tightened at the back. This indicated that the perpetrators had done this from behind. In addition, the bedspread and hair of the deceased appeared unnaturally draped.

A third party perpetrator was also unlikely, because how would a foreign intruder have known that there were cable ties in a box in the cellar? In addition, the victim's cell phone had been missing since the morning of the crime.

A work colleague who was present when the body was found also contacted the police a short time later because the man's behavior seemed strange to him.

The alleged perpetrator certainly had a motive to get rid of his wife. He had been in a relationship with someone else and had been under pressure to finally come clean. The man was inconsistent in his statements and evasive when asked specific questions.

The crime was committed unscrupulously and blatantly selfishly. "You have to talk about elimination," the public prosecutor concluded.
