On Wednesday evening in Brusio GR, a 25-year-old man drove into a patrol vehicle belonging to the cantonal police of Graubünden, injuring the two police officers, aged 51 and 31. The driver involved in the accident will now be reported to the police.

The two police officers were on their way at around 7 p.m. because of an emergency call, the cantonal police of Graubünden wrote on Thursday. A private individual had called for help because the 25-year-old was allegedly in a state of mental distress, a police spokeswoman confirmed at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency.

Then everything happened very quickly. On the way to the private individual, they received a report that the 25-year-old had fled and was driving towards the patrol. Shortly afterwards, the police wanted to block the man's path and parked their car in the opposite direction.

The officers had not even been able to leave the vehicle before the 25-year-old drove into it, the spokeswoman continued. The two police officers were able to leave the hospital again on Thursday night.
