According to the State Secretary responsible, the 50 meetings with the social partners were used to analyze possible compensation measures. A risk analysis was carried out first, "because there are indeed certain setbacks", Helene Budliger Artieda told the media on Friday.
Budliger is the head of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (Seco) and the state secretary responsible for wage protection. The setbacks include, for example, the fact that the registration period for companies from EU countries working in Switzerland will now only be four days instead of eight and that Switzerland has not been granted an exemption in the area of expenses.
Various compensation measures were then explored. "It is primarily the task of the social partners to come to an agreement here. Seco has a moderating role," emphasized Budliger.
