59-year-old man killed with a knife in his home in Henau SG

A 59-year-old Swiss man was fatally injured with a knife in a detached house in Henau in the canton of St. Gallen on Christmas Eve. The injuries were apparently inflicted by a 34-year-old woman. The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the crime.
Shortly before midday, the emergency call center received a report that a person was seriously injured in the building on Blumenstrasse, the St. Gallen cantonal police announced on Tuesday. According to initial findings, it was the 59-year-old's house.
The emergency services found the man and the 34-year-old Hungarian woman there. Despite immediate resuscitation, the 59-year-old died a short time later, it was reported.
According to the communiqué, the woman had made the emergency call herself. She was arrested. The reason for the crime and its exact course of events were initially unclear. "The man was injured by the woman with a knife in an unknown manner", wrote the police.
According to the police, the relationship between the two people is also the subject of ongoing investigations. The responsible public prosecutor's office has opened criminal proceedings.
