A 73-year-old woman was forgotten at a German rest stop on the highway in Wiedergeltingen in southern Germany on Sunday night. According to the police, the 73-year-old woman, her 67-year-old brother and his wife had taken a break in the parking lot on their way from Bosnia to Switzerland.

The woman went to the toilet and when she came back, the car was gone. A man called the police because of a "distraught elderly lady without a jacket".

The brother had reportedly not noticed that his sister had left the vehicle. It was only shortly before Zurich that the couple noticed that the 73-year-old was no longer in the car. The brother immediately drove back to the Swabian district of Unterallgäu. The siblings were reunited at the police station around four hours later and continued their journey.
