Aargau SVP Wins More Than 8 Percent in National Council Elections

In the canton of Aargau, the Swiss People's Party (SVP) has seen a significant increase in the National Council elections according to preliminary results, reaching 40 percent. The Social Democratic Party (SP) has lost 2.3 percent, the Free Democratic Party (FDP) 1 percent and the centre-right parties almost 1 percent. The Green Party has lost 3.6 percent, and the Green Liberal Party (GLP) nearly 1 percent. The Evangelical People's Party (EVP) has seen a slight increase of less than 1 percent. 149 out of 198 municipalities have been counted.

The SVP has seen the most significant gains in the canton of Aargau, increasing by 40 percent. The SP, FDP, and centre-right parties have all seen losses, with the SP losing 2.3 percent, the FDP 1 percent, and the centre-right parties almost 1 percent. The Green Party has seen the most significant losses, with a decrease of 3.6 percent, while the GLP has lost nearly 1 percent. The EVP has seen a slight increase of less than 1 percent. 149 out of 198 municipalities have been counted.
