Artificial intelligence has enormous potential for the Swiss economy. In a recent study, the majority of respondents expect a significant increase in productivity in companies.
According to the Innovate Switzerland Community survey, which was conducted by the think tank W.I.R.E. in collaboration with the AI Center at ETH Zurich and Microsoft Switzerland, 68% of respondents expect the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to increase productivity in companies over the next five years.
27 percent even expect a strong increase. Only 5 percent believe there will be no change, according to the survey published on Thursday.
When asked when exactly productivity gains from the use of AI will be clearly noticeable, 47% of respondents expect this to be the case in the next two years. 41 percent expect this to happen within the next five years.
The study is based on a survey of 111 Swiss companies and 20 qualitative interviews with experts. It paints a comprehensive picture of the current and future impact of AI in Switzerland.
