The expansion of Aldi in Switzerland has slowed down. Instead of opening 10-12 stores per year, the company is now opening 4-5 stores annually. The focus has shifted from rural areas to cities, with potential for growth in Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Bern. Aldi is also looking to open stores in train stations, which would require less staff and focus on products that turn quickly, such as drinks, pastries, fruit and vegetables. The company currently has 239 stores in Switzerland and is aiming for 300 in the medium term.
