Around 2,500 people marched through the center of Geneva on Saturday "for an end to genocide, apartheid and occupation in Gaza". The demonstration was organized by the organization "Boycott - Divestment - Sanctions against Israel" (BDS).

The demonstration marched from the Quartier des Grottes behind the train station across the Mont Blanc bridge to Place Neuve. Participants waved Palestinian flags and chanted chants such as "Free, free, free Palestinia", "Gaza, Gaza, Genève est avec toi, ("Gaza, Geneva is with you") or "Nous sommes tous des enfants de Gaza" ("We are all children of Gaza").

The demonstrators called for the mobilization to continue as long as the Israeli forces continue their "massacre" in Gaza. One BDS member said that Israel was now using hunger as an additional weapon. The port that is currently being built for aid deliveries is nothing but window dressing.

BDS also condemned Switzerland's "overwhelming silence" in the face of "genocide". The Swiss authorities would be obliged to actively promote compliance with international humanitarian law. The organization also called on Switzerland to immediately cease its military cooperation with Israel.

The demonstration went off without any major incidents. However, there were major traffic obstructions and spray-painting at the Musée Rath. According to police estimates, around 2,500 people took part in the demonstration.
