According to the organizers, the four-day Valais Openair Gampel came to a successful end on Sunday. With 96,000 tickets, it was almost sold out. There were slightly more visitors last year.
The organizers drew a positive balance after the 38th edition of the festival. The atmosphere was exuberant and the weather was mostly stable, according to a press release on Sunday. The medical service attended to 550 patients, 4 of whom were transferred to hospital for a check-up. There were no major incidents.
This year, more acts than ever before performed on the stages of the Openair against the backdrop of the Valais mountains. 48 bands and 50 DJs entertained the audience with pop, rock, hip-hop, rap, electro, dance, metal and folk.
One of the highlights was the performance by US rockers The Offspring. They returned to Valais after 13 years. They brought Brit Yungblud on stage as a surprise guest for their last song. The resulting live video will be released soon, as announced by the Gampel OC.
According to the information provided, the guests arrived in around 1,300 cars and 145 campers. The cleaning of the area is expected to take around three weeks.
