In Obbürgen NW below the Bürgenstock Resort, the army set up five temporary helipads for the air transportation of the conference participants. The challenges here were the confined space and the rain of the past few days.

The five landing sites are located at the end of the village of Obbürgen. They were created using roll-off roads and metal plates, as Divisional Officer Daniel Keller, commander of the army operation, said on site on Monday afternoon.

The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) will decide who will take off and land on these airfields during the conference, said Divisional Officer Daniel Keller, commander of the army operation, on site on Monday afternoon. For security reasons, Keller did not want to say where the helicopters will fly to the provisional airfield from.

Most of the conference participants will either fly in by helicopter or travel by road from Stansstad, according to a media spokesperson for the canton of Nidwalden. However, it is also possible for people to travel to the Bürgenstock by boat and funicular. The boat station and the funicular will remain closed to non-conference participants.
