Arsenal of weapons seized from movie star Alain Delon

Police have seized a large arsenal of weapons and ammunition from the estate of French film icon Alain Delon (88). This was confirmed by the public prosecutor's office in Montargis to the German Press Agency on Wednesday. Following a tip-off from a guardianship judge about weapons in Delon's family home in Douchy, a small town around 130 kilometers south of Paris, a search was carried out there last week.
As a result, 72 revolvers and rifles as well as over 3000 rounds of ammunition were seized. It was also discovered that a shooting range had been operating on the property. As Delon did not have a firearms license, an investigation had been initiated into the unauthorized possession of weapons. Delon is known to be a gun enthusiast.
The unusual police intervention at the cinema star's home came amid a public mud-slinging by his feuding children and reports about the screen icon's health. Initially, allegations made by Delon's three children against his then housekeeper and socialite in Douchy had made headlines. Following reports of violence, bullying and poor treatment by the children, the public prosecutor's office closed the investigation at the beginning of this year.
Daughter Anouchka Delon has long been involved in a dispute with her brothers Anthony and Alain-Fabien, which has also been carried out via the media and social networks. Among other things, it is about their father's healthcare and the question of whether this should be provided in France or Switzerland.
In the magazine "Elle" last week, Anouchka Delon reported on her father's enthusiasm for weapons. He has a whole collection of weapons. When her brothers came to the estate, they would run around with weapons and act like the Wild West. According to the newspaper "Le Parisien", the interview was probably the trigger for the search the day after it was published. Anthony Delon, on the other hand, countered in "Le Parisien" that Anouchka himself was doing target practice with a pistol in Douchy. He had not been walking around armed for a long time.
