Astra has electric charging stations built along national roads

The Federal Roads Office (Astra) is promoting the expansion of charging stations for electric vehicles along national roads. Five companies have been awarded the contract to build fast-charging hubs.
In February, Astra launched a call for projects to further promote electromobility in Switzerland. According to information from Astra on Tuesday, the aim was to award five lots, each with eleven plots spread across the whole of Switzerland, to companies for reservation.
Seven applications were received within three months, from which the best five were selected after a thorough review. The companies have three years to plan the fast-charging hubs and apply for a building permit. The companies themselves are responsible for the planning, financing, construction, electricity connection, operation and maintenance.
