The number of jobs on offer for bank employees looking for work increased again in June. The number of jobs advertised at the ten largest Swiss banks increased significantly.
Overall, there are almost 9 percent more job advertisements on bank websites than in May. This is shown by an analysis of the job portal Indeed, which counts and analyzes the bank jobs advertised for the news agency AWP. Only jobs with a place of work in Switzerland are taken into account.
However, with around 770 jobs advertised, the number of vacancies at the ten largest banks is significantly lower than a year ago. At that time, Credit Suisse, which is currently being integrated into UBS, was also looking for new staff on a significant scale, meaning that around 200 more applicants were being sought than today.
In the meantime, there are no longer any job vacancies on the Credit Suisse site, but as in many other areas, there is simply a link to the UBS site. A few days ago, however, the Swiss Credit Suisse company was legally merged into UBS.
More job advertisements at Pictet and Baer
The analysis of the job portal Indeed shows that, on the one hand, UBS advertised more jobs in June than in May (+8 percent), but on the other hand, significantly more job advertisements were found at the private bank Pictet and at Bank Julius Baer in particular. At Pictet, the number of vacancies rose by 77 percent to 76 within one month, at Julius Baer by 33 percent to 61.
The number of jobs on offer is lower than a month ago at Bank Vontobel (-15 percent) and Waadtländer Kantonalbank (-17 percent), among others.
