Basel and Geneva are still in the running for the ESC

The next Eurovision Song Contest will take place either in Basel or Geneva. This was announced by SRG on Friday. This means that the bids from Zurich and Bern/Biel are out of the running. The final decision will be made at the end of August.
In Geneva, the Palexpo exhibition center right next to the airport would be the venue. The authorities want to provide 30 million francs for the event there.
If Basel is chosen, the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will be held in the St. Jakobshalle. SRG intends to announce the final decision at the end of August.
