Basel government very pleased with decision

The Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) will take place in Basel in May 2025. In a press release, the Basel government expressed its delight at the decision.
Hosting the world's largest music competition is a great opportunity. Basel will do everything in its power to be a good host, the government announced immediately after the decision was announced.
The venue for the ESC is the St. Jakobshalle. There will be an "Arena Plus" with concerts by former ESC stars in the neighboring St. Jakob-Park on the final day. The canton is also planning "a comprehensive accompanying program" in the city, as well as a "Eurovision Street" in Steinenvorstadt and along the banks of the Rhine in Kleinbasel.
The Basel government will soon be submitting a bill to the Grand Council for the organization of the event, which envisages net expenditure of CHF 34.9 million. The Grand Council will decide on this on September 11.
