Baume-Schneider announces talks with the healthcare sector

According to Social Affairs Minister Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, all players in the healthcare sector must work towards curbing healthcare costs. She announced that new savings proposals would be analyzed at a round table at the beginning of November.
"The entire industry is called upon to implement cost-cutting measures quickly," Baume-Schneider told the media in Bern on Thursday. She is confident that improvements can be achieved together.
In addition to the federal government, the cantons also play a central role "in the fight against rising premiums." Responsibilities in the healthcare system are shared.
"We must take care to maintain the level of service and keep it affordable," said Baume-Schneider. Both are needed.
