Bear droppings found in Zernez GR

A private individual found the droppings of a bear in Zernez GR last fall, according to the quarterly report published on Thursday by the Cantonal Office for Hunting and Fishing. This is the only confirmed evidence of a bear in 2023.
The bear pile was discovered on October 14 in the Piz d'Arpiglias area of the municipality of Zernez GR.
Lynx have also been detected in Graubünden. The office also confirmed cubs in the Surselva, on the Schamserberg, in the Safiental and in the Hinterrhein region. A severely limping young lynx had to be killed in Vals GR in December. It had previously suffered a fractured femur.
