Less rigid regulations are to apply to working from home in future. The National Council's Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxation voted 18 to 7 in favor of submitting a corresponding bill for consultation.
This was done as part of the parliamentary initiative "More freedom to organize working from home" submitted by Councillor of States Thierry Burkart (FDP/AG) in 2016.
The majority of the Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxation (WAK-N) considered it necessary to make employment law more flexible in view of today's working environment. However, a minority of the committee warned against a deterioration in working conditions and health protection, which could also result in high costs for the economy.
