Retour au fil d'actualité
The Swiss cabaret artist Jürg Randegger has died. He was 88 years old. Randegger made a name for himself with the cabaret Rotstift.
Christian Jott Jenny announced the death on his Facebook page on Tuesday. Jenny is a Zurich entertainer and mayor of St. Moritz. Randegger's family told the Tages-Anzeiger that the cabaret artist died shortly before Christmas.
The Zurich-born Randegger trained as a primary school teacher. However, he soon discovered the stage. In 1954, he founded the Cabaret Äxgüsi with Jörg Schneider, and a good ten years later he joined the Cabaret Rotstift. The original idea of the teachers who founded the cabaret was to enable children from disadvantaged families to take part in a ski camp.
Awarded the Prix Walo
After that, around twenty programs were produced over the years, some of which were also broadcast on television. In 1985, the Caberet was awarded the Prix Walo, and in 2002, after 45 years, the last performance took place.
Randegger also worked on a radio play for "Schlieremer Chind". And he presented the "Samschtig-Jass" show on Swiss television for over twenty years. It was not until 1999 that he handed over presenting duties to Monika Fasnacht.
