In the canton of Freiburg, 141 candidates are vying for the seven seats in the National Council. This is 13 fewer than four years ago, and the number of lists has also decreased from 25 to 22. 51 women and 90 men will be on the ballot on October 22nd, according to the State Chancellery. Currently, the seven Freiburg National Council seats are mostly held by women: Christine Bouillard-Marbach (Centre), Valérie Piller Carrard (SP), Marie-France Roth Pasquier (Centre) and Ursula Schneider Schüttel (SP). The three men are Gerhard Andrey (Green), Jacques Bourgeois (FDP) and Pierre-André Page (SVP). Only the liberal Bourgeois will not be running for re-election. On October 22nd, the Freiburg electorate will also choose their two representatives in the Council of States. Seven candidates have put themselves forward for the Council of States. The two incumbents, Isabelle Chassot (Centre) and Johanna Gapany (FDP), are running again.nnnnnnnnnnnn
