Car driver seriously injured in collision with excavator in Ticino

In Ronco sopra Ascona TI, a car driver was seriously injured in a collision with a parked excavator on Thursday morning. He was transported to hospital by helicopter.
The accident occurred at around 04:00, according to the Ticino cantonal police. A 60-year-old driver was driving in the direction of Arcegno and collided with a correctly parked excavator for as yet unexplained reasons.
After receiving initial medical treatment at the scene, the man was flown to hospital by helicopter.
