Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis signed an agreement in Ljubljana on the Swiss contribution from the second Cohesion Billion to Slovenia. He also promised the country 200,000 francs for the victims of the severe floods. In addition, know-how will be exchanged to help cope with the disaster. This was in response to a request from the Slovenian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Tanja Fajon, according to the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (EDA). At the beginning of the month, torrential rains triggered a flood disaster of historic proportions in Slovenia. The government now estimates the damage at five billion euros. On Monday, heavy storms and heavy rains again hit the Adriatic coast and the west of the country. The agreement on the second contribution of Switzerland to selected EU countries was signed by the Federal Council with Aleksander Jevšek, the Slovenian Minister for Cohesion and Regional Development. Until 2029, Switzerland will support projects to increase energy efficiency and promote renewable energies with 16 million francs.nnnnnnnnnnnn
