The negotiation package with Brussels includes a new version of the land transport agreement. This affects international rail traffic. In the negotiations, the Federal Council wants to ensure that the regular timetable and Swiss tariffs are respected.

Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis said this to the media in Bern on Friday. In addition, the cooperation model should be retained and Switzerland should continue to be able to allocate the train paths in its network itself.

In addition, the high quality of public transport in Switzerland and wages in the sector should be guaranteed. Around five percent of all train connections are affected by the overland transport agreement, said the Foreign Minister.
