The firefighting efforts in the Oberwallis forest fire are being hindered by the current unstable weather. Heavy storms have caused the emergency services to be temporarily withdrawn on Monday. However, the situation in the affected area remains stable. The lower temperatures are helping to cool the ground more quickly. Firefighting efforts from the air are being reduced, with the large helicopter being withdrawn on Monday afternoon and only three small helicopters being used since Tuesday. This is also being affected by the weather, as the helicopters cannot fly in fog. On the ground, six teams of five to six firefighters are being supported by forest workers and flight helpers.
