Co-Chairmanship: “Competent and committed” candidates nominated

According to the party co-presidium, the SP has nominated two "outstanding, competent and committed" party members to succeed Federal Councillor Alain Berset.
It was a fair and interesting election campaign, Co-President Mattea Meyer told the media on Saturday. She also thanked the four unsuccessful candidates. The next few years would be challenging in view of an FDP and SVP majority in the Federal Council, which was also willing to use its power.
That is why, alongside Federal Councillor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, a strong voice is needed in the Federal Council to promote social Switzerland. Both Pult and Jans could be this voice, said Meyer.
