The Swiss Federal Roads Office (Astra) will announce the exact date of the reopening of the Gotthard Road Tunnel on Friday. Since Sunday evening, experts have been working around the clock to repair the tunnel, which has been closed in both directions since Sunday afternoon due to a crack in the tunnel ceiling. Currently, the installation of a steel structure as a replacement for the defective intermediate deck plate is underway.
