Driver crashes into wall in Hergiswil NW and dies

A driver was killed in an accident in Hergiswil NW early on Wednesday morning. The 55-year-old was driving on Seestrasse towards Stansstaad NW when he drove head-on into a wall in Reigeldossen.
The driver was so seriously injured in the collision that the emergency services were only able to determine his death, according to the Nidwalden cantonal police.
It was not yet clear on Wednesday afternoon why the man was involved in the accident. The exact cause of the accident is under investigation, according to the cantonal police.
The road was closed in both directions for four hours between Acheregg and Hergiswil Dorf due to the accident.
