Driver injured by fallen trees in Siebnen SZ

A 59-year-old driver was trapped in his car by fallen trees in Siebnen SZ on Friday evening. He was rescued by the fire department and flown by rescue helicopter to a hospital outside the canton.
The driver was traveling down the valley towards Siebnen when the vehicle was hit by three trees blown down by the storm at 5 p.m., according to the Schwyz cantonal police on Saturday.
He was trapped in the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. For safety reasons, the affected road was closed until Saturday morning, as more trees had to be felled.
