The Swiss vacation airline Edelweiss Air cannot yet quantify the effects of the bankruptcy of the German tour operator FTI. The consequences of the FTI insolvency are currently being examined, said a spokesperson for the airline on Tuesday at the request of the news agency AWP: "It is still too early to make a statement on this."

Furthermore, Edelweiss Air does not comment on the FTI insolvency. However, all guests who had flown with Edelweiss would "regardless of the current situation, be brought back home safely and on time", said the airline spokesperson: "For questions about any refunds, we would like to refer you to FTI."

Europe's third-largest travel group after Tui and Dertour had pulled the plug the day before after months of rescue efforts: It filed an application with the Munich Local Court to open insolvency proceedings.
