The Swiss Energy Foundation believes that the Federal Council is sabotaging the energy transition. It has launched a "nuclear appeal" to the Federal Council.

"The intended counter-proposal, which aims to remove the ban on new nuclear power plant construction from the law, is in sharp contrast to the will of the Swiss people," wrote the Swiss Energy Foundation (SES) in a statement on Wednesday. The SES is calling on the Federal Council and Parliament to respect the referendum.

It is well known that nuclear energy poses serious health risks for people and the environment and creates dangerous dependencies. The costs of building a nuclear power plant are also incalculable.

"If the Federal Council maintains the lifting of the ban on new nuclear power plant construction in its dispatch to Parliament, the Federal Assembly will be called upon to correct this," it continued.
