Fatalities after apartment fire in Locarno TI identified

The victim of the fire on Tuesday night in Locarno TI has been identified. It is the tenant of the apartment, a 73-year-old Croatian national, as the Ticino cantonal police announced on Thursday.
Investigations to clarify the exact circumstances are still ongoing. No further information will be released, the press release stated.
At around 01.00 on Tuesday, a fire broke out on the second floor of a residential building in Locarno for unknown reasons. The police found the dead tenant there. Ten residents of the apartment building were evacuated and housed in a civil defense room, according to a statement issued on Tuesday.
