On Sunday, a fifteen kilometer long traffic jam formed in front of the Gotthard North Portal between Erstfeld and Göschenen. The waiting time was two hours and twenty minutes. Already in the early morning, the TCS traffic service reported traffic overload at Gotthard. At 1 pm, the traffic jam exceeded 10 kilometers and continued to grow. On Saturday, at the beginning of the summer holidays in the canton of Zurich, a sheet of metal formed in front of the Gotthard. At times, the traffic jam was 15 kilometers long, which corresponded to a waiting time of two hours and thirty minutes.
